Q: Why should I consign my yearling to the onGait Fall Yearling Sale? By selling with us, you eliminate shipping costs, prepping fees, and sales commissions. We've sold thousands of horses since we began in August of 2001 and our web traffic is greater than ever, averaging over 54,000 visitors a month while generating over 2.2 million hits.
Q: How much does it cost? A: $100 USD. There are no other charges.
Q: When do you stop taking entries? A: We're taking entries through the morning on the auction but the more time you give buyers to find out about your yearling, the better.
Q: How do I consign my yearling? A: First, register with onGait.com by clicking REGISTER on the top of the page. You'll be asked to enter your contact information so that buyers can reach you and onGait can notify you with information on the winning bidder or if your reserve bid was not met.
Q: I'm giving you my email address. Do you sell it or share it with anyone? A: Absolutely not. The information you provide does not get distributed in any form.
Q: After registering, what do I do? A: Near the top of the page, click the red banner and enter the information requested. After that, you'll be sent to our secure credit card payment page. If your card is approved, your yearling is officially consigned to our sale.
Q:What else do I do? A: That's it. We'll complete your yearling's page with all the necessary information.
Q: Are photos and videos necessary? A: We've sold many horses without photos and videos but it can help.
Q: How do I get the photos and videos on the website? A: After consigning your yearling, you'll receive an email which will tell you where to email or send by regular mail your photos and videos. We load them on the website ourselves.
Q: I've never sent photos or videos by email. Is it difficult? A: No. Just contact us and we'll walk you through it.
Q: If someone is interested in my yearling, what do they do? A: They'll see your contact information on your yearling's page and will either call or email you (whatever you prefer) to ask questions, make an appointment to inspect the yearling, set up a vet exam, etc.
Q: Does it make sense to consign my yearling now or should I wait until we get closer to the auction? A: The sooner the better. First, you give buyers plenty of time to learn about your yearling. Second, even if you decide to retain him or sell him privately before our auction, you don't get penalized. Third, think of it as a $100 advertisement that lasts until October 29. That's a bargain when you consider the amount of horsemen that will get to know him.
Q: What if I have more questions? A: Call Maurice toll-free at 1-866-240-RACE (7223) or email him at ongait@aol.com and he'll be happy to help.
